About RGEO
The foundation for research in the rgeo-team is the use of innovative digital geomedia. The staff pursues current questions in geographical science, geographical methods and geographical education in projects worldwide.
The research areas of the Research Group for Earth Observation at the Heidelberg University of Education cover a wide range of geography, from professional development concepts in environmental education to the remote-sensing based analysis of environmental changes.
The “GIS-Station – Centre of Competence for digital Geomedia” has over ten years of experience and trained over 19,000 pupils and 2,000 teachers in the use of digital geomedia and in developing new and innovative tools to convey remote sensing and GIS principles.
